"ART IS A WOUND TURNED INTO LIGHT."
GEORGES BRAQUE

THE COLLECTIVE AND INDIVIDUAL EMBODIMENT
OF GRIEF AND THE SENSING
RETURN TO RIGHT RELATIONSHIP

AN ARCHIVED COMMUNITY OFFERING
AT
THE HEART REVIVAL CENTER
(Facilitated by Michelle and Shannon)

Grief is seldom seen as a creative force in our lives — we, so often, wear love in a heavy coat of loss. Yet when grief is acknowledged, tended, and held, it can become a steady companion — a teacher and a wellspring of creative transformation.

This offering invited participants to walk with their grief, exploring the tidal rhythms of loss and love through somatic awareness, creative expression, and ceremonial practice.

We live in a culture uneasy with grief, that has forgotten the sacred art of mourning and the wisdom of death, even as we are immersed in the collective sorrows of climate change, war, pandemics, and the enduring wounds of racism, misogyny, and colonialism. In coming together, we remembered what our ancestors knew: that healing is a communal act.

Through shared story, embodied practice, and ritual, we reclaimed grief as a creative and alchemical force, reconnecting us to ourselves, to one another, and to the living world.

In community, we built a collective altar to honor our ancestors, the Earth, and the transforming heart that lives in all things. Participants brought meaningful objects, gifts, and offerings — weaving stories of remembrance, reciprocity, and renewal.

Through gentle presence and shared ceremony, we opened to the blessings that emerge when grief and gratitude walk hand in hand.

This gathering was part of an ongoing exploration of the creative and healing potentials of the body, story, and soul. May the spirit of this work continue to ripple outward in acts of tenderness, belonging, and care.

We were here to support one another as the ceremony unfolded.

This gathering has concluded, but for information on future offerings, ongoing work with grief, embodiment, and community, or to stay connected, please check back here or reach out at [email protected].
