Michelle Warren
Michelle is a Trauma-Informed healer, primarily through the lens of the somatic arts. She has a B.S. in Sociology/Ethnic Studies with a focus on Indigenous Studies. She is a seasoned Yoga Teacher, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP), and Myofascial Release® bodyworker. Additional training includes Internal Family Systems, Tao of Trauma, Biodynamic Cranial Sacral, NeuroAffective Touch and Polyvagal Theory. She also serves as an assistant for the Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner training program.
Michelle blends her expertise and intimate knowledge of how the cranial sacral rhythms, myofascial networks, and TCM meridians of one's anatomy hold emotional imprints and physical patterns. She guides her clients into deeper conversations by asking subtle, yet provocative questions; she fosters inner knowing by teaching one how to deeply attune to the body's narrative; and she listens to the language and experience of the body. Michelle's knowledge of how to distill the complexities of the relationship between psyche and soma opens space for creating new patterns of long-lasting healing. Michelle is integrative in her therapeutic approaches. As a well-known wardrobe stylist, she has collaborated with many clients in the creative process. Applying her artistic approach, she views somatic work as a shared journey, because we are not meant to heal alone. She brings her compassion, her knowledge, and her appreciation to each session. She is so grateful and deeply values the influence of her teachers, mentors, peers, and her clients, all of whom have allowed her to cultivate a space wherein she can guide others into aliveness and flow. This creativity is the driving force of her art. She believes in the wisdom of the body and is committed to supporting individuals on their own healing journey. As we become more able to deepen our own innate capacity within our nervous systems, we can begin to feel more at home and at ease in both our body and the world. During her own healing journey, she found and fell in love with SE and how it allows for a wider field to to hold the healing process and enables and empowers the body to lead us to reach the places that words alone cannot access. Her most echoing credential is her lived experience as a mother consciously navigating the complexity of being human during most extraordinary times, which beckon us to love more deeply as we learn to move and be moved by our loss + grief. |
